Some questions to think about for each section:
For the Introduction:
- What is Gas exchange?
- What is its importance?
- What is cellular respiration?
- What is the link / importance between gas exchange and cellular respiration?
- What are the three groups you are looking at
For the 1st part:
(For these next parts it doesn’t have to be in any order - fish, insect, mammals
- Consider the questions I have written for each of the animals.
2nd/3rd/4th Part - Mammals, Fish, Insects:
- What is their habitat like?
- Think the environment around them (in general) and how diverse the areas they can live in are
- What are the adaptations that allow them to carry out gas exchange
- Choose two adaptations and talk about how they specifically enable the organism to live in their habitat.
Why are these adaptations good for the environment they are in?
What are the advantages to having these adaptations —> Remember this is always a link back to how they carry out their way of life.
What are the limitations. Are their any limitations for their environment? Or does their means of gas exchange limit them from living in other environments?
Part 5:
- Compare the diversity across each of the animals you have looked at.
- This means looking at each of the animals gas exchange systems and talking about how they are similar and how they are different - and why they are different. Why does that difference work for them specifically?
- For this one I suggest you fill out the sheet I gave you for homework the other week the compare and contrast sheet this will be really helpful for this section.
